Browser Add-Ons

Skip the copy-and-paste step

Copying a link, switching tabs and pasting it gets tedious once you are doing it several times a day. The add-on puts a download button directly on each video in your timeline, so the file is saved without ever leaving X.

Free, and it works alongside the website — use whichever suits the moment.

  • One click

A save button appears on every video, right where you are already looking.

  • No tab switching

The file downloads in place, so your scroll position survives.

  • Three browsers

Built for Chrome, Edge and Firefox from the same codebase.

  • No account

No sign-up, no subscription, and no telemetry riding along.

Getting it running

  1. Install it from your browser's store using the button above.
  2. Open X and browse as you normally would — no settings to configure.
  3. Hover a video and the download button appears in the corner.
  4. Click it, pick a quality, and the file saves to your downloads folder.

Nothing else changes about how the site behaves. If the button ever fails to appear, reloading the page is almost always enough.

Why bother with an add-on?

The website exists for the occasional save — someone sends you a clip and you want to keep it. The add-on is for the other case: you are already deep in a timeline, videos worth keeping keep going past, and breaking your attention to open another tab each time is the actual friction.

Both routes fetch the same original file at the same quality. The only difference is how many steps stand between seeing something and having it.

What it can and cannot see

The add-on requests permission for X's domains only. It cannot read other sites, and it has no reason to — there is nothing for it to do anywhere else. It holds no account credentials, because it never signs in as you.

Your browsing is not logged, profiled or sent anywhere. When you click download, the video URL is resolved and the file transfers to your machine; after that the add-on has no record it happened.
